Earlier this week, I was out in Michigan visiting Le Copain and his family! I’d never been to the Midwest and hadn’t met Le Copain’s family after dating for 15 months(!) so everything was very new to me (in a good and exciting way).
(Total creeper shot. It was too cute not to and I may have showed it to le copain afterwards/insisted he get an Instagram account… he didn’t :/ )
As for what we did…
*We ate out a few times including at this hot dog and diner-y place called Coney Island and at a fro-yo place called Mechies where they tell you to “Have a smiley day” when you pay :D.
*We saw his brother’s basketball game (which his brother was the top scorer for!! and which the refs had no idea how to call fouls for).
*We watched a lot of TV—especially Friends and The Simpsons.
*We played Mario Party, Guitar Hero, and Battleship, played with his adorable dog named Snowball :D, visited with his parents some, and
*We went to an outdoor mall for a bit with cool Christmas lights, but got cold so ended up fooling around in the Apple store for awhile… go figure :P
As for visiting Michigan for the first time… it wasn’t that different than New York. There were some different chain stores, speed limits were 70 mph, most cars were American made, and a lot of buildings/houses were built with bricks. So yes. That was Michigan! Hopefully I’ll be back soon enough!
I think that’s about it for my travels, but all…people/places/things were lovely.
PS: Hi amies! Your lives are interesting. I’d love to hear your adventures too!
PPS: Le Copain found this online while I was chez him. Quite the funniest!
PPPS: Birthday list here!
Ever since I was little my mom’s entire family has gone to Wellesley Island each summer. We stay in a community of Victorian houses where everyone walks, bikes (or golfcarts) everywhere and everyone knows everyone or at least waves to everyone they pass. This weekend spent there was like many in the past, but a dream nevertheless! My three days there included…

Spending time at the “cove” reading Gone with the Wind and watching river “traffic” go by.
Life has been slow lately. So was this weekend, but it included a change of people and scenery and was absolutely wonderful!
Friday was spent at a favorite pair of twin friends’ house eating a roll of frozen cookie dough (thanks amie AB :) ), chit-chatting, playing Hearts and saying quick hellos to other lovelies (who I haven’t seen in ages) who got in late.
(Oh hello amie S!—guess I didn’t actually get one you sleeping ;P)
Most of Saturday and Sunday were spent in this somewhat charming and old yet perhaps “dangerous” town…
with this cutesicle (aka: le copain)!
It was so nice to catch up after a few weeks apart! Time was spent walking around campus, going out for Tex-Mex, watching the exciting Celtics basketball finals with many others, and simply enjoying each other’s company in the short time we had.

Ahhh vacation. Day 6. Home soon though :(. Today was like most others…sleeping in, family brunch, then beaching per usual (aka: sunning, visiting with the mother, aunt, brother, and cousin T, and reading lots(/now I’m done with my 3 vacation books)). As for later tonight, plans will most likely include mini-golf where we somehow always manage to lose a ball or two to multi-lane highway Route 1 (or maybe that’s just me…) and what else besides delicious ice cream?!
PS: Hope you’re enjoying wherever you are at the moment too!

I could really use to get away at the moment.
This past week and a half or so has just been too much.
Conveniently, I will be at this lovely beach in Delaware in less than a week!
Loads of reading, building sand castles, Old Bay seasoning on everything, watching crappy TV and Shark Week when we’re too tired to be more creative, sleeping in, runs on the beach, etc.!
I’m ready to pack my bags!
